No need to watch FOX News (or NBC, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS for that matter), since they all parrot the same garbage every day, every hour. This is my attempt to decipher what the mainstream mead is telling us, and promoting to us - 15 minutes, 3x/week.

HOORAY!

watched a little of Shep Smith's afternoon show, and these appear to be the highlights:
  1. the Dow is up!!!
  2. we've got a new TV network coming this fall!!
  3. there's no hard evidence that the CIA is outsourcing torture
  4. America really kick's ass.

believe it or not, it might just be my bad luck, but as I'm typing this, I just heard Shepard say, "...Janice Dean, the weather machine...comin' up!"

back tomorrow...

p.s. "if you get down to the nitty gritty" in publicly stated objections to Samuel Alito, you just don't have much of a case, and the only people opposed to him are Democrats. Always making it a partisan issue, rather than an issue of the Constitution, you bastards!

What the....

that's it. what the hell is going on here? Ok, so I watched a little CNN today - about 45 minutes, and in between a bunch of personal interest stories about how the great USA helped some poor helpless Iraqi's, people lost on a mountain, and the like, I got to see the stupid weather ...twice.

Weather....this is news?????
so, needless to say, I went back to the ole standard, FOX, and guess what...they were just getting to the weather too! Off with the stupid box for the day. I wish it was forever.

Day 1 - Going to remember this day for a long, long time.

Well, the news today is what motivated me to keep this journal of my thoughts, analysis, and observations on what's being spewn from the corporatist media. Here's how I see it...

NEW MAPS OF IRAN
Since I generally only see the news 3x/week, I'm not sure if this was a first, but today was a first to me. I noticed that in all the stories about "evil Iran", FOX has begun using a new graphic of Iran; not just some map of the countryside, but one of those "video game" style ones with missile ranges, attack sites, and the like. For many years to come, I'm going to remember this day, as the one where the Iran war really became official policy. sickening.

ON THE SILLY SIDE
Dr. Manny (who the hell is this guy anyway?), in his segment, was answering some email questions, and kept referring to doctors as "primary care physicians" Three times in about 2 minutes for that matter. When did the word doctor get changed to a phrase that reminds us of our horrible health care system?
